Twin shadows fall upon spinning fruit

 Oscillating Oranges

 Lemons in motion

 Cherries scrolling in pairs

Bugs Bunny jacks one-armed bandit again

Ears shift and twin shadows become a V

 as siren announces latest Jackpot

 Bugs loves to win

Puts the twitch in his whiskers

 Keeps him sharply unoutwittable,

 cockily unbearable

 Quick white gloves

 sweep winnings from chiming machine

 Hums " My Darling Clementine"

around stub of well chewed carrot

 as impossible pockets are stuffed

 A.C.M.E. stamped glass reflects

 buck-toothed success

"Sufferin suck-a-tash" other players cry,

 but Bugs’ prominent ears

remain distracted by whistles and bells

 Bugs pupils dilate

 into pulsing dollar signs

 unable to see beyond fruit

 dutifully falling in line

 Twin shadows flatten

Taken down by A.C.M.E.’s Anvil of Evil

 in violent cartoon moment

 Dust snakes through corridors

 of Big Apple Casino,

 and Bugs, being Bugs,

 brushes himself off

 asking

"What’s up, Doc?"
